Special show "Plastics shape the future"
This year the innovative power of the material and the industry in terms of resource-saving processes, digitalisation, functionality, renewable energies, circularity and sustainability were centrestage of the special show. And such critical themes as marine litter, the throw-away mentality associated with plastic packaging and the use of finite resources for their production were not ignored either.
The special show is a project that was initiated by the German plastics industry under the aegis of PlasticsEurope Deutschland e.V. and Messe Düsseldorf.
The forum for research and teaching: universities, colleges and scientific institutions presented their latest research for the plastics and rubber industry.
Plastic is an important material for industrial designers. Therefore, K held interviews with leaders across medical, automotive, consumer electronics and sports on the use of materials and plastics in their work and industries.
The central meeting point for the topic of the circular economy at K 2019 was the VDMA pavilion. The association provided information about trends and challenges based on data, facts and practical examples.
On three days during K 2019 bioplastics MAGAZINE hosted a Bioplastics Business Breakfast, where thedelegates had the chance to listen and discuss highclass presentations and benefit from a unique networking opportunity.
See, experience, be amazed! In exhibitions, discussions, experimental shows and on research stands, trainees, pupils and students of tomorrow were able to experience working with plastics.
