Lakatos Termoformadoras attends K Trade Fair 2019

Company participates in the international trade fair for the first time under a new name and it is focused on expanding its business in the Latin American thermoforming market.

Lakatos Termoformadoras will be at the K Trade Fair, the largest trade fair in the plastics and rubber industry, October 16-23, Hall 3 | F45 in Düsseldorf, Germany. For the first time at an international event since it was renamed, formerly called Electro-Forming, the company will have an institutional booth with commercial service, where promotional material (videos, catalogs, etc.) about Lakatos products and solutions will be available.

The name change took place in early 2019 as a brand repositioning strategy based on three pillars: the evolution of the company, which is nowadays a national reference in the manufacturing of thermoformers and thermoforming molds; the investiment in innovation and technology in the manufacturing processes and products; and the expansion in the Latin American plastic transformation market.

According to Paulo Lakatos, company director, the expectation for the event is very high, as Lakatos is focused on the major players in Latin America. “Today the domestic market has conventional technologies similar to those developed by the best European players. Our products bring competitive productivity, engineering and energy efficiency,” he says. Lakatos also participates in the main Latin American trade fairs of the sector, held in countries such as Mexico, Peru, Ecuador, Argentina and Colombia.

In Paulo Lakatos´ opinion, the new relationship between plastic and the world is one of the main challenges of the sector: “We will see during the trade fair the trends that will be outlined for this new scenario”, he says.

Thermoformers and  4.0 Solutions

At the booth you will be able to watch presentation videos (and other content) about Lakatos machines, including the TCM-2 thermoformer. Powered by rolls, the machine is available with three or four stations in different configurations (molding, cutting, perforation and stacking). It is ideal to manufacture trays, food packaging, perforated parts and blister packs in different types of plastics (PS, PET, PVC and PP) with thicknesses from 0.1 to 1.3 mm.

Another highlight of Lakatos is Supravac 2, suitable for thick plate molding of different thermoplastic materials (PS, ABS, PET, PVC, PP and HDPE). The main feature of the thermoformer is its productivity: it automatically loads plates and unloads molds and can reach 60 cycles / hour, depending on the material used. In addition, it has two high-output ovens that control heating by resistance zones, avoiding plate deformities and ensuring a high quality finished product.

Aware of new manufacturing processes, Lakatos is working on designing solutions that involve digital technologies such as big data and artificial intelligence. Thus, customers already using connectivity and remote maintenance systems will soon be able to perform data analysis.
